In a UK study of 60 homes using plug-in fragrance diffusers: using the diffuser led to a statistically significant increase in summed fragrance-VOC concentrations especially in homes with low air exchange rates (from median ~9 µg m⁻³ to ~15 µg m⁻³ for α-pinene) when diffuser on vs off.
